How to choose an IT services provider

1. How long have you been in business, how much experience do you have?

Micro Plus started in 1991.  Many of the staff members have worked here for in excess of 20 years and everyone has extensive IT knowledge.  We have vast experience of installing networks and resolving IT related problems quickly and efficiently.

2. Do you have enough suitably knowledgeable technical staff to respond to any issues I may have?

Micro Plus is expanding year-on-year. We currently have 25 full time staff including 9 technicians with a wide range of technical specialities.  

3. Are you Microsoft Certified?  Do you hold Microsoft Small Business Specialist certifications?

We are a Microsoft Certified Partner with a number of skill-specific Microsoft awards in recognition of our proven top-level in-depth technical knowledge, certified problem solving experience and documented case history successes.  We have direct access to Microsoft’s premier technical support resources.  We are also certified Microsoft Small Business Specialists and Microsoft Authorised Educational Resellers.

4. Are you based close enough to my business to get a technician to me quickly if I have problems?

Micro Plus operates from 3 main locations in Oswestry, Shropshire and Wrexham, North Wales.  Our technicians are typically based between Wrexham and Shrewsbury and out in to Mid-Wales and we support businesses from South Shropshire to North Wales and Cheshire on a daily basis.

5. Will you give me sound professional advice with solutions tailored to my exact requirements rather than ready made packages? Are you independent enough to provide the best solution for my requirements from a range of manufacturers or are you tied to one specific supplier?

We are not tied to any particular supplier or manufacturer.  We are completely independent and as such we will evaluate your requirements and tailor a bespoke solution to meet your individual needs.  Many network suppliers limit their customers’ choices by sticking to a single manufacturer’s portfolio.  We will investigate all manufacturers and their product ranges and only suggest those that are best suited to your particular situation.  By choosing a Micro Plus Computers solution you will get exactly what you need and not pay for any unnecessary extras.

6. Can you provide a complete comprehensive solution, from initial design through supply and installation followed up by on-going technical support?

We provide a complete and comprehensive service from start to finish.  A typical process would involve:

i) Initial visit to discuss your requirements. 

ii) Our technicians will then evaluate options to meet your requirements

iii) We provide you with a detailed quotation, usually with multiple pricing options and often with individually priced pick-and-mix features

iv) We will discuss the quotation with you and revise as necessary

v) If we are successful with our tender we will order, assemble and test the equipment. Install to your site and configure for optimum performance. Test again and then show you and your staff how to operate your new equipment.  (we complete as much of this as possible in our workshops to minimise disruption to your business)

vi) We will also provide you with a competitive quote for fixed-price, comprehensive ongoing monthly support including remote-fix, telephone help and technician call-outs.

7. Do you supply reliable brand name hardware or do you use lesser quality, unbranded equipment?

We are very particular about the the equipment we supply and make sure that everything we recommend is reliable and represents good value for money as well as performance.  We are a Dell Premier Partner and Authorized Reseller for Acer, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Asus, Samsung, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard plus many others.
