IT Network Engineer (added 16/11/2011)

This role will involve working with a range of business customers, schools and public sector bodies on network installations and support, quotations, product selection and IT services, primarily in Shropshire and Wrexham area but occasionally further afield.

The ideal candidate will have experience of or be capable of the following:

• IT project management for small/medium installations of typically 5 to 200 users
• Experience of working for an IT Reseller/Service company as a field technician 
• Up-to-date knowledge of IT hardware and software
• Will be required for hands-on installation and network troubleshooting/maintenance
• The candidate must have a good working knowledge of IP Networks, Cisco experience (Cisco Router and Switching Platforms and Cisco IPT) and working knowledge of WAN, LAN and WLAN.
• IT support desk experience, to deal with customers and resolve reported issues.
• Monitor the performance of systems and troubleshoot problems
• Network security (Trend Micro, Sonicwall preferred)
• Active network hardware (Cisco, HP preferred)
• Data back up and disaster recovery knowledge (preferably Symantec experience)
• Virtualization experience preferred (MS and/or VM)
• Microsoft Windows Server, SBS and Exchange experience (from planning and installation through to support)

• The ability to work under pressure with a level-headed, logical approach to problem solving.
• Must be self-motivated and can work well on their own as well as part of a team. 
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude towards helping and mentoring others.
• A friendly nature and the self-confidence to deal with customers at end-user and director level
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organisational skills

Salary £20,000 - £25,000 pa depending on experience and qualifications + company vehicle

This is a full time position. Immediate start.
