Nominated in the National PCR Awards 2012
Micro Plus Computers is thrilled to announce that we have nominated for Best Retailer in the prestigious PCR Awards.
This is a national award with the six finalists chosen from the tens of thousands of computer resellers up and down the country. We have been selected as a finalist based on product knowledge, product range and customer service.
Previous winners of a PCR Award include John Lewis, Amazon, Microsoft and Acer. The 2012 winners will be announced at a gala evening at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London in March.
Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Business Network Club
Peter Stokes has been unanimously voted back for a second year into the Chairman’s role for the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Business Network Club. Framework Supplier
Micro Plus Computers have today been appointed Framework Supplier to a project running across the whole of Wales to provide IT equipment and support to remote workers. The concept is that more people, especially women, will be able to return to work but to actually work from home, providing flexibility for them and their families. Micro Plus Computers will set up secure internet tunnels to the organisations servers allowing staff full access to their systems without having to go to the office. This is a great project that helps with Micro Plus Computers Environmental Policy in regard to reduced carbon footprint
Major Network Upgrade
Micro Plus Computers won the contract to supply a new switch infrastructure to a major abatoir based in North Wales, as one of Europe’s biggest abattoirs and running a 24 hour a day, 7 days per week operation, significant planning had to go into making this job a success. An initial testing the existing fibre network was required and ultimately 15 network switches where installed, along with providing test results and a PC system to manage the connectivity between switches.
Oswestry Network Club
Peter Stokes, of Micro Plus Computers, was successfully elected to the role of Chairman of the Oswestry Network Club. This club run by the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce meets every other Thursday with the purpose of getting local businesses together to discuss business opportunities and to build long term relationships key to being able to recommend other members services to their own customers.
Many club members use this as their only marketing activity as the business generated can be significant. Peter said “It is great to be chosen by the group to lead the way throughout 2010. The last 12 months have been tough for many local businesses, but the strength of this club has brought steady business to Micro Plus and many other members. I am honoured to be chosen to grow the club in the next year.”
SMB Select Cisco Partner
A number of Micro Plus Computers staff have recently passed various Cisco technical and product knowledge exams and the company has been acknowledged as an SMB Select Cisco Partner giving it access to world class support.
